The Summer University is a unique opportunity, offered by CHANGINS and its partner institutions, for students of viticulture and oenology from all over the world to get together for 4 weeks of education and exploration in different wine-growing regions of the world.

the Mission

"To sow the seeds - the seeds of knowledge, the seeds of understanding, the seeds of friendship" - Anne-Catherine Lyon, head of the Department of Education, Youth and Culture of the State of Vaud.

the objectives

  • To improve international perspectives on viticulture, enology and wine business management through study and sharing between teachers and students from all over the world
  • To enable students to meet experts, and to gain awareness of the many production and management techniques used worldwide
  • To strengthen personal communication skills
  • To guide students in their career in the grape and wine industry

The Summer University offers a study environment based on:

  • Sharing of knowledge, through group presentations made by students and by learning about the special features of different regions by mixing with other participants, both teachers and students
  • In-depth discussions to promote critical thinking and practical application of concepts taught
  • The opportunity to form friendships and build a worldwide network of contacts

Students are viewed as ambassadors for their respective university programs and for their regions when travelling the world and interacting with others in different parts of the world.
