Résumé

The tomato is one of the main greenhouse crops in Switzerland. Tomatoes are threatened by several enemies. The spider mite, Tetranychus urticae (Koch), is a major pest on tomato as well as on vegetable and ornamental crops. In tomato crop, biological control (predator or parasitoid) is frequently used and helps to control those pests. A new predatory mite specie, Phytoseiulus macropilis, seems suited to regulated T. urticae population on tomato crops cultivated under greenhouse conditions. Physiologically, tomatoes have its own system of defenses which synthesizes secondary compounds (toxic or repellents) for pests. The aims of this study were to assess:

1) if P. macropilis is able to control T. urticae on tomatoes grown under greenhouse conditions

2) the efficiency of P. macropilis in the presence of Macrolophus pygmaeus (predator of whitefly),which could feed on

3) the development of P. macropilis on tomatoes synthesizing secondary compounds
